JA of Garland County

Our Story

Rooted in community, growing in service.

Junior Auxiliary of Garland County was chartered in 1976 with a shared vision: to bring together women who believe in the power of service and the lasting impact of community. What began as a small group of passionate volunteers has grown into a strong, service-driven organization committed to meeting the needs of children and families across Garland County. We are proud to be part of the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries, a network of 93 chapters across seven states. Since its founding in 1941, this organization has united women through a common mission: to improve the lives of children through volunteer service. That legacy continues to guide our work today, shaping both who we are and how we serve. Today, our chapter is made up of 40 dedicated members who give their time, energy, and hearts to this mission. Together, we have served more than 2,400 children and contributed over 900 service hours within our community. But beyond the numbers, our impact is measured in the lives we touch—students who feel supported, families who find relief during difficult times, and young leaders who discover their confidence and purpose. Our programs are designed to meet real, immediate needs while also investing in long-term growth and opportunity. Through JA on Call, we provide essential resources to students across Garland Countyschools, helping ensure basic needs are met so children can focus on learning and thriving. Crown Club empowers high school girls through mentorship, leadership development, and service, building the next generation of community-minded leaders. Heart for Art blends creativity with education, raising awareness about heart health while encouraging self-expression. JA Fun Day creates inclusive, joy-filled experiences for children with special needs, offering a day centered around connection, fun, and belonging. In addition, our scholarship initiatives invest directly in the future by supporting students as they pursue higher education and career goals. At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to hands-on service and meaningful connection. We don’t just give—we show up. We build relationships with our schools, our partners, and the families we serve, ensuring that our work is both impactful and deeply rooted in the needs of our community. For nearly five decades, Junior Auxiliary of Garland County has remained dedicated to strengthening our community one child at a time. And while our programs and reach have grown, our purpose has never changed. Everything we do is rooted in one simple belief: every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. If you’re passionate about making a difference, we invite you to be part of our story. Whether you’re interested in joining, partnering, or supporting our mission, there’s a place for you here—and a child whose life can be changed because of it.
